Rules of the Municipality of Losvik

§ 1 Who runs Losvik

The Municipality of Losvik is fictional. It is run by Losol AS (org. no. 914 103 339) and is not a real municipality or public authority. Send questions about these rules to Fetching email address ….

§ 2 Citizen names

You choose your citizen name yourself, but it mustn't suggest you are something you're not. The name must not:

• look like it belongs to the Municipality of Losvik, its staff or its bots
• look like it belongs to a real municipality, agency or authority, such as the police
• be the name of a well-known person or another citizen
• be offensive or harassing

The municipality may change a citizen name that breaks this. We tell you when we can.

§ 3 Conduct in Prat

• Keep a friendly tone, and assume the best of others.
• No harassment, hate, threats or discrimination, and nothing illegal.
• Don't share other people's personal details or pictures without permission.
• No advertising, spam or chain letters.
• Don't pretend to be someone else.

§ 4 Fair use

• No bots, scripts or other automated use without an agreement with us. The municipality's own bots are the exception.
• Don't load the service more than ordinary use would.
• Don't try to get around access controls or security.
• One account per person. Don't create more accounts to get around the rules.

§ 5 What you write

You're responsible for what you write, and it's yours. You give the municipality the right to store and show it in Losvik, in the place rooms also to visitors who aren't signed in, as the privacy statement describes. You can delete your own messages at any time.

§ 6 What the municipality can do

If you break these rules, the municipality may:

• delete messages
• change your citizen name
• remove your right to speak (talerett)
• take you out of a room, or close the room
• close your account for a while or for good

We'd rather explain why. For serious breaches we may act without warning first, and illegal content may be reported to the police.

§ 7 No guarantees

Losvik is under development. The service may be down, change or be shut down.

The municipality's bots take their information from others, such as express boats, flights, weather, tides, weather warnings, the police log and news. It may be late or wrong, and it doesn't replace the official sources. When it matters, check Entur, Avinor, the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, the Norwegian Mapping Authority, the police and NRK yourself.

Losol AS is not liable for losses from using the service, as far as the law allows.

§ 8 Changes

We update these rules as Losvik changes. We tell you about significant changes. Last updated 2026-10-03.
